Is the ordering process complicated?

Not at all. After filling out the online order form, we’ll get in touch with you as soon as possible to discuss your board further. This discussion can take between 10 minutes and 45 minutes depending on how much assistance you need - patience and an understanding ear are key. Then, once finished, we submit your order to our shapers.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. A deposit of 50% is required for us to get started. This can be paid via direct transfer, debit card or credit card. Note that the deposit will not be refunded if you decide to cancel your order.
All custom boards are not refundable or returnable.

How long until my surfboard finished?

This depends on a number of factors, including the size and shape of your surfboard and the type of tint or spray job that you request, but our aim is to have your board ready within 4 weeks approximately. This is a faster turnaround for a custom than most major surfboard companies offer. Please note that a custom surfboard is a piece of art and delays may occur.

Where are the boards shaped?

All Habitus surfboards are shaped right here in Portugal by master boardbuilders and glassers with almost three decades of experience shaping for world-renowned brands such as Chilli, Rusty, Simon Anderson and more.

Do you only do normal PU surfboards?

No. We can build your surfboard in both PU and epoxy depending on your wishes. Remember that in terms of design, we try our hardest to give you as many options as possible. The best idea is to fill out the order form then talk to us about what you want.

I’m only a beginner. Can I order a custom?

Our custom boards are for all skill levels. This includes beginner-level surfers. Keep in mind though that if you’re a beginner who surfs often and is progressing quickly, you might want to order a board that you can grow in to. Again, we recommend filling out the form and scheduling a call with our team. We’ll make sure you get a board that’s perfectly suited to your skills.

I need a batch of boards for pumping waves. Can you help?

Of course! Nearly nothing makes us happier than knowing we’re helping you get tubed. So if you require a batch of boards for an overseas surf trip, get in touch. Just keep in mind the time it takes to make your boards. When in doubt, reach out and place your order as soon as possible.

I’ve never ordered a custom before. Should I order my first with Habitus?

Definitely! We’re passionate about matching surfers with their first custom surfboard. And we take into account your specific needs and opinions to ensure you’re 100% satisfied with your order. We also keep you in the loop throughout the entire process. This way you can focus purely on enjoying that amazing feeling of anticipation with zero doubts or concerns about how your board is going to turn out.

Are there any surf shops or board stores that stock Habitus surfboards?

At present we have a few locations within Portugal and Spain that stock our surfboards. Please view our Stockists page for information on where to find these stores.

You didn’t respond to my Whatsapp message right away. Can I also email you?

You’re free to contact us any way you want. However, we ask you to please allow a maximum of 48 hours for a response. We’ll schedule a consultation with you as soon as possible within that timeframe. Also, if you message us on Whatsapp, please avoid sending a follow up via email. This can create additional confusion and make it harder for us to contact you.
